Growth strategist for Riyadh companies

In short

I work remotely with Riyadh teams as a fractional growth lead: owning SEO & GEO, paid media, CRO, attribution and AI automation — and building Shopify stores when the store is the bottleneck. Engagements start with a one-week audit (≈ SAR 5,600).

The Riyadh growth market

Riyadh is at the centre of Saudi Vision 2030, and the capital is absorbing regional headquarters, new entertainment and tourism projects, and a fast-growing base of e-commerce and fintech companies. It is a young, smartphone-first market that rewards brands which localise properly and punishes those that simply translate a Dubai playbook.

What I see in Riyadh

  • The Regional Headquarters programme has pushed international companies to set up in Riyadh, and many arrive with a global brand but no Saudi-specific positioning, Arabic content or local channel plan.
  • Saudi consumers are heavy users of Snapchat, TikTok and X alongside Instagram, so channel mixes imported from Europe often underweight the platforms where Saudi audiences actually spend their time.
  • Payment preferences are distinct: mada debit cards, Apple Pay, instalment providers such as Tabby and Tamara, and still some cash on delivery, and each one changes checkout conversion and return rates.
  • Ramadan and the Eids, Riyadh Season, White Friday and Saudi National Day on 23 September all drive large swings in demand and ad prices, so budgets and stock plans need to anticipate them months ahead.

Search & AI discovery in Riyadh

Most Saudi searches happen in Arabic, often in local Najdi or Gulf phrasing rather than textbook Arabic, while B2B and tech buyers still mix in English terms. High-quality Arabic content remains thinner than English content for many commercial topics, which is an opening for brands that invest in it, and Arabic prompts in ChatGPT and other AI assistants are becoming a new route to vendor and product discovery.

Privacy & tracking: Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), supervised by SDAIA

The PDPL has been fully enforceable since September 2024 and sets real conditions on consent, purpose limitation and transferring personal data outside the Kingdom. Tracking setups use consent banners, server-side tagging and careful vendor choices so marketing data flows stay defensible.

FAQ

Working with clients in Riyadh

How far ahead should we plan for Ramadan, Riyadh Season and White Friday?

Earlier than most teams expect. Ramadan moves about 11 days earlier every year, Riyadh Season stretches across the cooler months and White Friday falls in late November, so I map the year's peaks with your team at least a quarter ahead, covering budgets, Arabic creative, landing pages and stock. Quieter weeks are then used to test offers and audiences before ad prices rise.

How does invoicing work for a Saudi company?

I invoice in USD or SAR. Cross-border services are usually handled through reverse-charge VAT, and some cross-border payments can be subject to Saudi withholding tax, so your finance team confirms the treatment before the first invoice.

How do you localise a global brand for Saudi customers?

I start with Saudi-specific research: the Arabic terms people search, the platforms they use, the objections they raise and the payment methods they expect. Messaging, landing pages and creative are then built for that audience, with a native Arabic writer, ideally Saudi, producing or reviewing the final copy.

Can you help us grow beyond Riyadh, in Jeddah and the Eastern Province?

Yes. City-level landing pages, Google Business Profiles and geo-targeted campaigns let you test demand in Jeddah, Dammam and Khobar separately, so you expand where the numbers justify it instead of spreading budget thinly across the Kingdom.
